Killing Zombies and Leveling Up Each zombie killed earns you experience points, and with enough of those, you will gain a level and one stat point. Once this happens, a message will appear underneath Galahad, informing you to press the Space Bar. Following this instruction will take you to this screen: You'll notice that Galahad's possible cards are listed on the right side of the menu. These are merely informative and cannot be upgraded. There are four statistical categories, shown on the left-hand side of the menu, that are upgradeable. Body represents Galahad's physique. Points in this category will increase your damage output and ability to withstand zombie blows. Aether defines Galahad's attunement to the holy arts. With more points, your Smite, Dash and Holy Beam cards will do more damage, and your Zealotry cards will last longer. Your base card regeneration speed will also increase with greater Aether. Luck is a lady, and also paves the way to higher quality cards. As you get luckier, the spawn rate of uncommon and rare versions of cards will rise. Devotion stands for Galahad's faith, piety, chastity, and what have you. Greater Devotion lightens the soul's burden and increases your foot speed, but it also infuriates the zombie hordes, who will spawn at a faster pace with each point in this category. Whenever you gain a level, a screen wide Smite-style stun will be activated, giving you a moment's reprieve from the living dead. If you find yourself low on health and surrounded by throngs of zombies, but nearing the next level, it may be to your benefit to wade into the deeply packed masses and knock out those last few experience points. If successful, you'll grow stronger and have a few seconds to wail away at the stunned enemies.
